Peschici, also called the Pearl of Gargano, dominates the surrounding landscape with a high cliff that vertically plummets into the sea. The picturesque town, adorned with lush woods and expansive pine forests, stands out for its characteristic white houses with grey domes (lampie) that echo the architecture of the Arab casbah.
Peschici, one of the most important tourist centres of all of the Gargano. Going towards the coast you discover bays and creeks of incredible beauty, which still remain intact and uncontaminated by human hands: San Nicola Bay , Cala Lunga, Manacora Bay, Zaiana Beach. These posts are ideal for younger vacationers that love to discover the most unexplored secrets of the Garganic Coast. Not to miss is the striking historical centre, with its alleys and white houses that hide many of the local crafts and typical products.
Travelling through the narrow streets dug out from the cliffs or going up the small and winding stairs you take in a unique atmosphere: the perfume of the Martime Pine combined with the salty air mixed with the scents of rosemary and capers.
Along the street that leads to the town, derived from the rock, you can catch a glimpse of various caves, mainly inhabited by fishermen, of whom credit is due for having invented a complex but highly efficient mechanism for fishing: thetrabucco.
The coastal panorama is wide-ranging: long beaches with shallow waters, small creeks with fine sand that interchange in pebbly intervals and at cliffs, a place preferred by underwater fishing enthusiasts where on these sea beds they find sea bass, black sea bass and lobster.
