The Swabian Castle
The castle of Manfredonia is the result of transformations, enlargements and renovations performed over different eras.
Originally, the whole structure consisted of a four-sided space surrounded by walls and 5 towers with square layout. It houses the National Archeological Museum, keeping several "Steles of Daunia" dating back to the VI and VII century.

Cathedral
The Cathedral of Manfredonia is dedicated to God under the invocation of Saint Lorenzo Maiorano, bishop of Siponto, following the design of a French architect; it is a gothic style church; its dome is 17.60 metres high, measuring from the presbytery, and it has a circumference of 30 metres.

Basilica of Saint Leonardo
The church is located 10 km away from Manfredonia, on the S.S. 89 road for Foggia, and it is an integral part of a renowned abbey compound belonging to the Teutonic Knights, built between the end of the XI century and the beginning of the XII century.
The temple�??s structure consists of three naves and three semi-circular apses.

S. Domenic Church
Located in �??Piazza del Popolo�?�, the church of Saint Domenic was built, together with the contiguous monastery, by Carlo II of Angiò between 1294 and 1299, and it was inhabited by the Dominican Fathers until the Turkish invasion (1620).

Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore
The Basilica is located 3 km away from Manfredonia, on the S.S. 89 road for Foggia. In the beginning this church was an ancient temple of Diana.
The church of S. Giovanni was built upon the temple, and in 1098 the current church was built.

National Museum
The Museum was founded in 1968. It holds all the archeological collection of the area, and it tells of the rich history of the ancient lagoon of Siponto through its findings. The collection of steles of the Daunia is particularly interesting schematic representations of the human figure, mainly coming from the lagoon area.

February 7th: "Feast and Procession of S. Lorenzo". the Feast, the Bishop recites the Antiphon that is traditionally attributed to this event, while the Cathedral Chapter chant the "Officia Sanctorum".
End of February: "Carnival of Daunia ". From January 17th, and on every Thursday until Carnival, there is the interlude, the preamble of the great adventure. An fun occasion with dance and masquerade parades.
August 29th/30th/31st: " Feast of Our Lady of Siponto ". It is characterized by a walk of prayer and fireworks.
August 14th/16th: "Festival of caciocavallo".
November 1st/2nd: "All Saints and Souls Feast": These 2 feasts mark the beginning of the cold season, i.e. the fall-winter. On these days it is tradition to abstain from meat and fish, eating codfish only.

ARTS AND CRAFTS
It is an ancient and well renowned activity of the Masters of Axe , dealing with building boats (�??removeliche�?� and fishing motor boats), and the Cartwright Masters , who produce trucks to transport people and goods.

One of the traditional local products made by the craftsmen of Manfredonia is the Basket of bulrush in which bread pastry is placed , also used to preserve wheels of fresh cheese or shellfish.

The production of ceramics is a characteristic element of Manfredonia craftsmanship, and it proposes items of various shapes which resemble the geometric decorations of Daunia.

The inlaying and thesculpturing of wood are very famous, thanks to local craftsmen who hand down their professional skill from generation to generation.

From the North: From the A-14 Highway exit at the Foggia toll booth, continue along the S.S.89 Foggia-Manfredonia. 
From the central Italy: Take the A-1 Highway (Roma-Napoli) or the A-24 Highway (Roma-Pescara) exit at the Foggia toll booth, continue along the S.S.89 to Manfredonia. 
From the Tyrrhenian South: Take Highway A-16 (Napoli-Bari) and exit at the Candela toll booth, towards Foggia, continue along S.S.89 . 
From the Ionic-Adriatic South: from the A-14 Highway (Taranto-Bari) exit at Foggia toll booth, continue on the S.S.89 to Manfredonia.

By train:
From the Foggia Train Station, go to Manfredonia by local trains or bus services.

By plane:
