On the left of the statue of Saint Michael we can notice the episcopal throne, dated the first half of the 11th century when the Archbishop of the diocese of Siponto-Gargano was Leone (1023-1050), a native of Monte Sant'Angelo.
The throne is the work of the sculptor Acceptus.As a whole the episcopal throne is a work that shows the importance of Romanesque art - Apulian with visible Moresque art - and Byzantine.
