of Perpetual Help
Ot the left of the presbytery under a wooden canopy recently restored,
upheld by four marble columns that came from another ancient monument,
one finds the altar dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, one of the
most ancient altars of the Celestial Basilica.
Above the altar, remade in Baroque style, is a fresco. Included in
the gilded cornice of the 17th century is a representation of Our Lady
of Perpetual Help, with, at its sides, two saints: Saint Stephen, protomartyr
and Saint Charles Borromeo.
