This small urban centre contributes about 70% of the national production of dried flowers. Not only that, but they have a large importance in the Casearia e Olearia industry. The modest high grounds that stretches around the city, are rich with almond groves, vineyards, and olive groves, an undoubtedy characteristic landscape. On the summit of one of these high grounds, Monte d'Elio, you find the ancient Roman-Apulian church of Santa Maria di Monte d'Elio.
