The Castle
Within the four-sided shape of the Castle, different architectural styles show artistic times, functions and cultures that follow one after the other, from Normans to Aragoneses. The first structure of the compound was built with defensive purposes, and during the age it embraced the residential ideals of a "domus solaciorum".

Walls
In 1292 Teodisco de Cuneo, teacher of crossbowmen and soldiers, provided Vico with an organized defence system and powerful walls with 20 towers.

�?�Matrice�?� Church
With the title of "Beatissima Vergine Assunta", the oldest parish church of Vico was built beside the Castle, a crowning achievement surrounded by the houses of Civita and Casale.

Church of Saint Mary
It is a small church outside of the walls, under the ancient �??Civita�?�, before the torrent which generates the Asciatizzi river. This name comes from the pious custom to bury virgins and children there, as it is written in the “ Book of the Dead ” kept inside the Mother Church, with writings dated back to the XVII century.

Capuchin Friars Monastery
Built in 1566 by Marquis Caracciolo, it was damaged by an earthquake in 1646, and when it was restored, the inner part was endowed with rich ornamental features.

February 14th: "Saint Valentine Festival ". The statue is carried around the streets of the town and covered with oranges and orange-blossoms of local production. These citrus fruits constitute the central element of the festival.  
August: "Olive Oil Festival ".  
August: "Cultural and Folk events ".  
September20th/22nd: "Saint Matthew, fair of cattle and crafts".

Since the XVII century the primary part of the Vico del Gargano economy is based on the cultivation of citrus trees

The extensive cultivation and the creation of new markets (also foreign, Venice and Dalmatia), created a general and common wealth. It is an earthly paradise where citrus trees ripen over the whole year: they start on April/May with the oranges, whose collection continues until September; June is the time of the �?�limoncella�?� and during Christmas they collect the �?�duretta�?�. 

The traditional dishes of Vico del Gargano are:
Water and salt with eggs and asparagus, Orecchiette with rocket, Caserecci with scampi and turnip greens, Ciambotta, Troccoli with stuffed cuttle fishes, Broad beans and chicory.

By car: 
From the North: From the A14 Highway (Bologna – Bari ), exit at Poggio Imperiale , and take the freeway (S.S.) to Vico del Gargano. 
From the central Italy: Take the A1 Highway (Roma-Napoli) or the A24 Highway (Roma-Pescara) and exit at the Foggia toll booth, continue along the S.S.89 to Vico Garganico.  
From the Tyrrhenian South: From the A16 Highway(Napoli-Bari) exit at the Candela toll booth, towards Foggia, and continue along the S.S.89 . 
From the Ionic-Adriatic South: From the A14 Highway(Taranto-Bari) exit at the Foggia toll booth, continue along the S.S.89..

By train:
From the Foggia Train Station, go to Vico by local trains or bus services.

By plane:
From "Palese" airport in Bari and from "G. Lisa" airport in Foggia, you can use public or private transportation..
